How it works
A simple estimate, built from your own numbers.
The calculator multiplies average order value by the qualifying purchases needed for a reward. It estimates the direct reward cost from the portion of retail value not represented by gross margin, then compares that cost with qualifying spend.
Use a realistic average from recent sales, not your best order.
Enter the reward’s normal selling price, even when the customer receives it free.
Use gross margin rather than markup; they are different percentages.
Compare more than one reward and target before deciding.
There is no universal perfect percentage.
A sustainable reward depends on product cost, visit frequency, unused rewards, tax, staffing, and whether the programme changes customer behaviour. Treat this result as a starting point and review real redemption data after launch.
